How you do it
Probability is the number of ways the event can happen divided by the total number of equally likely outcomes. All the probabilities of a complete set of outcomes add to 1, so the chance of something not happening is 1 minus the chance that it does.
Before you start
Best tackled after fractions and decimals. You meet it at Foundation and Higher tier. Later work on combined events and tree diagrams assumes it.
What you learn
