This topic calculates percentage increase and decrease and finds the percentage change between an original and a new value using (change ÷ original) × 100. How you do it
Divide the change by the original amount, then multiply by 100. The original is the starting value, not the new one — using the wrong denominator is the most common way to lose the marks.

What you learn
A percentage change increases or decreases an amount by a given percentage. To change an amount by a percentage, multiply by the right multiplier.
