This topic covers standard units for length, mass, capacity, area, volume and time, converting between metric units and using them accurately in measurement problems. It's a core topic in GCSE and iGCSE Maths with Edexcel and the other major boards. How you do it
Convert everything to the same unit before you calculate. Remember that area factors square and volume factors cube, so 1 metre squared is 10000 centimetres squared, not 100.

It assumes you can handle the four operations and place value. You meet it at Foundation and Higher tier. Expect to use it again in compound measures and unit conversion.
